What to bring to a first appointment

A list of everything you take, with doses if you know them: prescriptions, anything bought over the counter, anything herbal. This is the single most useful thing to arrive with, because it decides what is appropriate.

Any recent test results or specialist letters you already have. No need to chase anything up first.

And if the problem has a pattern, a rough two-week note of it. Unglamorous and more useful than anything you can reconstruct from memory in the room.
